National Donut Day actually has its roots in doing good? Donut Day started in 1938 as a fundraiser for The Salvation Army of Chicago with the goal of helping those in need during the Great Depression and to honor The Salvation Army “Lassies” of World War I, who served doughnuts to soldiers.

Back this year is their donut stacking competition amongst Greater Cincinnati influencers, media personalities and celebrities (our owner was a judge last year and is a donut stacker this year!). FLOTSAM! is a troupe of musicians, circus artists, and puppeteers traveling on a handmade raft, giving free performances in riverfront towns along the way. They will be in the second amphitheater from the bridge. Just look for the most unusual ‘boat’ along the river – that’s them! Their show is kid-friendly but meant for ALL ages. Bring a blanket or lawn chair, and come early for a good spot!
