The first year is filled with so many milestones. With our daughter being our second and last baby, I have been in no rush for her to reach these important moments; I’ve wanted to savor every second of her as an infant. She’s had other ideas though. Wanting to keep up with her big brother, she is moving fast to catch up. Walking was no different. Baby girl took her first steps just after she turned 11 months and I swear she was running days later. I guess you learn fast when a toddler is chasing you!
This fast transition left me unprepared and left her shoeless. Luckily it was summer so I could get away with it for awhile, but when she started wanting to walk around at parks and in stores, the gross/danger factors took over and I started searching for the perfect first shoe. With my son I really just cared about functionality and didn’t think much about appearance. Of course, baby girl was a little different, so I scoured for cute AND well-designed shoes. Turns out, that’s a difficult task!
Enter Mooshu Trainers. I was lucky enough to receive a pair of adorable shoes for baby girl to try out as she first started walking. I fell in love with the shoes on the website and loved that they came from a family owned business that has tested these shoes on their own children. When I received the package, I was immediately impressed and eager to get them on her feet. I was worried about one thing though. I had discovered that baby girl has wide, thick feet. Many shoes I had tried in stores didn’t fit. The Mooshu Trainers were a little tough to get on at first (aren’t all toddler shoes??), but I was pleasantly surprised that they quickly molded to her feet and she was off and running. And the added bonus…they are super cute!
One feature I was initially concerned about was the squeaker. With two toddlers 18 months apart, I didn’t think I wanted any more noise in the house. Oddly enough though, I actually love this feature. It encourages heel to toe movement with her feet and I also know where she is throughout the house. It’s also endless entertainment for my two and a half year old and my dog! And if I do get tired of the squeaking at some point, they are removable!
All the proof I needed that these shoes were a good fit for baby girl came when I tried to photograph her wearing them. She wouldn’t stay still for a second, so I did the best I could to give you a visual of her stylish new trainers.
Local mamas can check out store locations here. If your baby girl or boy is reaching this huge milestone, I highly recommend you try out Mooshu Trainers. They’ve added joy and comfort to a transition I wasn’t quite ready for and I can’t wait to see where baby girl takes them.
