Students entering grades one through 12 for the 2023-24 school year can register for a variety of full-day camps in a fun and educational environment. Classes prioritize learning, skills building, ensemble, and community. Read more about our camp ideology below!

No theatrical experience is needed to enroll in Playhouse summer camps.

Students of all experience levels — whether they’re performing arts lovers, new to theatre, or anywhere in between — are welcome to enroll! We believe everyone has a voice, and we use theatre as a space for deeper learning, connecting with others, and having fun. Our programs favor process-based curricula, and we don’t require students to audition for summer camp programs upon registration.

Camp instructors focus their instruction on building key skills in a supportive and engaging environment. Through theatre games, exercises, and hands-on projects, students strengthen their skills in communication, creativity, and confidence, which support important developmental milestones in between school years. The experiences and lessons gained in our summer camp programs translate seamlessly to their classroom environment.

One-week summer camps for first- through 10th-graders offer themes that vary week to week.

Each of our full-day, one-week camps centers around an exciting theme and offers lessons tailored to specific theatrical practices. For example, one of this year’s camps, “Magic Across the Multiverse,” offers classes in acting, stage combat, and improvisation. Campers will bring to life popular characters like the Scarlet Witch and settings like Dr. Strange’s Sanctum Sanctorum. Another camp, “Songs and Spells,” offers classes in acting, singing, dance, and theatre crafts. Classes will utilize material from musicals like Into the Woods, The Wizard of Oz, Hocus Pocus, and other entertaining shows about witches.

All one-week camps include lessons in rehearsal and performance. They culminate in a Shareformance for family and friends, in which each age group shares what they’ve learned throughout the week in an informal performance.

One-week and muti-week Performance Academy programs for first- through 12th-graders offer a full production experience.

For students who want to deepen their experience in the theatre, Performance Academy programs offer the chance to do exactly that! Campers learn how to bring a full show (with limited sets and costumes) to the stage in a performance for family and friends. Classes in special theatrical techniques combine with rehearsal and performance experience. This year’s Performance Academy camps offer opportunities for students to embody their favorite Disney characters, create the roleplay realm of their dreams, and step inside the worlds of beloved musicals.

There are no auditions required for our Performance Academy programs. Roles will be assigned at the beginning of camp, and performers will be organized by age for classes and small group rehearsals. This year, we offer four-day, one-week, two-week, and three-week programs.

The Playhouse’s Launch Pad Accessibility Program is available at both locations.

In our commitment to increasing accessibility, Launch Pad immerses students with developmental disabilities into a traditional camp environment. Daily accommodations are made on-site, including social narrative signs, detailed concrete schedules, access to comfort items, and a quiet space. A Family Coordinator works with parents to assess these accommodations during pre-camp preparations. All camp counselors and instructors are trained in effective communication strategies that allow students with developmental disabilities to make the most of their summer camp experience.

Launch Pad is available this year at our one-week camps at both locations. Some limitations apply to the program, which can impact availability and accommodations. You can learn more and ask specific questions by connecting with our Playhouse Education team at 513-977-2028 or [email protected].

Join us for a summer of magic!

This year, we’re taking our campers to imaginative new heights as we create fantastical characters, enact our exploits, and so much more. Each camp program embodies the possibilities of magical creativity and play through music, movement, theatre crafts, dancing, acting, and performance. Where will your camper’s imagination lead them next?
