This mama will use ANY holiday as an excuse for fun, themed activities, and St. Patrick’s Day is no exception. With leprechauns, gold, clovers and rainbows all mixed in, you’ve got a lot of options!
I’ve done the Pinteresting for you, and rounded up a list of 10 different St. Patrick’s Day activities for your kids:
- Rainbow Shamrock Salt Painting: Salt painting is one of my favorite activities to set-up because you can use any shape, and the supplies are things that you already have at home!
- Rainbow Sorting: All you need to set-up this activity are some Fruit Loops, colored cups or bowls, and tongs. And because you’re just using cereal, even the littlest family members can participate!
- Rainbow Shaker Wand: Finally, a way to use up all those toilet paper and paper towel rolls! This is one of the messier activities on the list, BUT it’ll be worth it! Because at the end of it, they’ll have something to play with.
- St. Patrick’s Day Leprechaun Mask: My kids love any excuse to get in costume, so I love the idea of them making their own masks! As with the salt painting activity, I bet you’ve got the mask supplies sitting at home already.
- Leprechaun Traps: This activity is geared for elementary-aged kids and older, but just wait until you see these cute leprechaun traps!
- St. Patrick’s Day Minute To Win It Activities: Diary of a Not So Wimpy Teacher has a great list of themed Minute to Win it ideas!
- Green Food Taste Testing for St. Patrick’s Day: This is a GENIUS idea, and I’m mad that I’ve never thought of it until seeing this post! B-Inspired Mama filled muffin tins with different green foods and had her kids rate them! Check out her post for all the fun foods that she used.
- St. Patrick’s Day Science Experiments: What kid doesn’t love a good science experiment!? The Science Penguin provides directions for two different St. Patrick’s Day-themed science experiments; both of which you can easily do with common kitchen ingredients!
- Bell Pepper Shamrock Stamp Craft: This is the perfect way to use up some bell peppers that are near the end of their life…
- Shamrock Number Line Scavenger Hunt: Scavenger hunts are another must-do in my house because they can keep my kids occupied for a loooong time! This will require a little set-up on your part, but then just imagine, sitting alone on your couch, while your kids run around looking for shamrocks… you’re welcome 😉
